MORALES FAMILY
GUATEMALA

October, 2008.

Dear Brothers & Sisters,
In Guatemala again.

After a very difficult trial for our family, Yomila’s health crisis and surgery, we are back serving the Lord in our different ministries in Guatemala.

SETECA, (Central American Theological Seminary)
The end of the academic year is nearing. During the first few days in October a good number of servants (84 students) will be graduating and preparing to go to the mission’s field, into teaching or to become pastors. We praise the Lord because during vacations many of the students go to different places and some to other countries to help in the advancement of His kingdom. This year 13 students will go to Mexico, Nicaragua, Cuba, Peru, Chile, Albania and other Central American countries. They plan to spend their "summer break" of mid-October to mid-December in two-months missions projects sponsored primarily by SETECA's Missions Committee and the student body here. Please pray that God will provide visas and funds for these students, use themmightily in these short-term projects, and confirm His missions call in accordance with His will.

FAM International, (Fraternity for the Advancement of Missions)
This organization, which Abel presides, continues growing. Many missionary candidates are making preparations to go to the field in countries such as Spain, Mexico, India and Northern Africa. We thank the Lord because He allows FAM to be a very valuable tool for local churches to send missionaries around the world. FAM continues preparing individuals in local churches to become conscious and learn more about the Great Commission.
The study entitled “A Great God for a Small World” continues being taught in rural areas in Guatemala. It has been very well received, and more people are becoming aware and obeying Christ’s Great Commission.

FAMILYYomila,
We praise the Lord because she has been recovering very well. The doctors can see a clear and evident improvement in her health. She suffers only minor limitations in her every day life. She can now read and write very well, something that has encouraged her and us greatly. We continue praying for her full recovery and for guidance for the doctors who are overseeing her treatment.

Nate & Lilane,
We give thanks to the Lord for the birth of Caleb Ian Williams on September 21st. Lilane is doing really well and her new son is growing healthily. As a family we are very grateful with the Lord for this gift that comes from Him. We feel great being grandparents!!

Thank you again for your prayers. Please remember to pray on our behalf. We have the following prayer requests:

For Yomila’s full recovery. For the Lord to continue to do His good work in her. For patience, strength and discipline in the recovery process.
For our grandson Caleb: may he grow healthy and strong.
For the students at the Seminary who will be participating in different missionary projects.
For the students who will be graduating, that they are of blessing in the Lord’s work in their countries of origin.
For FAM’s missionaries who are in the process of leaving for the field. For their finances and visas.
For the Lord’s protection in our country. Guatemala continues to have and increasing wave of violence.
